MARK E. HOGAN Temecula, California 7/22/53 - 10/26/24

Mark E. Hogan passed away on October 26, 2024 at his home surrounded by his Wife Kathy and Daughters Casandra and Elizabeth after a long 2 yr. plus battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on July 22, 1953 in Dennison Texas to Jim and Brenda Hogan. Mark was a simple man who loved his Wife Kathy of 47 years, his Family, the Lord, Reading, History, playing the Guitar and The Beatles. The first song he learned to play was "Blackbird" which he played and sang to our girls from the time they were little till grown adults until 2023 when he could no longer remember how to play which saddened him. He joined the Air Force straight out of High School during the Vietnam War and served as a Seargent and Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. One of the first things I learned about him was that he had been Baptized in the Sea of Siam while overseas and was excited to tell people about it. He met his wife Kathy through a friend at Plush Cue Billard's in Whittier 6 weeks after coming back from the war in July of 1975 and they fell for each other right away and married on Feb. 28, 1977 and had their 2 daughters Casandra in 1978 and Elizabeth in 1979. A devout Christian and along with his father Jim handed out care packages and pamphlets when his girls were little on the weekends while preaching to the homeless in Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles. He was employed by various companies Oscar Mayer, Ball Glass Corp., Helen Grace Chocolates, Seagate, and Von's before forced into retirement due to his severe hearing loss and other factors from the military. He and his family made many moves and he and Kathy finally settled in Temecula. Their dream was to live out their retirement years together until his confirmed diagnosis of Alzheimer's which ultimately took that dream away from them at the age of 71 when Kathy lost The Love of Her Life.

He always said his greatest things in life were his family. He is survived by his wife Kathy, Daughters: Casandra, her daughters Rosemary and beloved daughter "Violet Skye who passed in 2015* and Elizabeth, husband Adrian and their 3 sons Jonathan, Isaiah and Aiden. His brother Bryan and Family, Debbie and Family and others across the USA, New Zealand, and Australia. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Parents Jim & Brenda, and granddaughter Violet Skye.

A Celebration of his life will be held at our home in Temecula, CA. on Jan. 25, 2025 from 1PM to

4PM. The Blue Eagles Air Force Honor Guard will perform taps and the flag ceremony at 2PM.
